More than just part-time jobs – school-based apprenticeships and traineeships are a great way to set yourself up for the career you want while you’re completing your HSC.

Some schools give all the information to students, but not all schools are forthcoming with this as a very valid option for students. In some cases it’s the thing that will get a student to the end of year 12.

Fee-free TAFE is available for people who enrol after 1 December 2022 and commence their course between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2023.

TAFE NSW will provide more than 300 qualifications from certificates to diplomas that align to the state’s priority industry growth sectors, free of tuition fees for eligible students.

Get a head start on a career by completing a TAFE NSW vocational education course, either at school or online, or earn while you learn with a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship. You can also do your post-school studies and choose from a diploma, degree or other pathway to university. SBATs can be available from year 10.
